“Pezão” Close To Signing With SENGOKU! Blanco’s Opponent Announced
“Pezão” Close To Signing With SENGOKU
In a new article at Tatame it says that former EliteXC Heavyweight champion Antonio Silva is close to signing with SENGOKU. They have made an offer to him to participate in their January 4th event.
Do these recent Heavyweight offers indicate a tournament in 2009?

It seems like Ryo Kawamura will not participate in this card as previously announced. Has he maybe received a spot on SENGOKU’s January 4th event?

Now that zuffa’s puppet armando garcia is gone from the CSAC, that suspension means less than shit. Silva will be re-instated. I wish you guys would get into politics a little. You never read the subtext.
A hw tournament could revive mma in Japan. Big time.

[...] Nightmare of Battle wonders if Sengoku’s recent pursuit of heavyweights — Dave Herman and Roger Gracie have reportedly received offers, and a fight between Josh Barnett and Kevin Randleman is rumored for the January event — indicates that a heavyweight Grand Prix could be in the works. How badass would that be? We’d say that’s worth defying the CSAC over — though there’s the risk that American MMA organizations would hold a permanent grudge against Bigfoot for fighting while under suspension, and refuse to work with him after the suspension is over. But it’s hard to resist the competitive urge when you’re an athlete. Maybe Silva hopes that everybody in the U.S. will have forgotten about his little horse-steroid misunderstanding by next summer? Looks good. I would’ve liked to see KISS Nakao in there also though. I know people joke about him but he’s actually a good fighter. And maybe the Judo gold medalist Zviadauri in there somewhere also. They have offered Sylvia also, he would have to be in it if they get him.

OK
Nakao vs Wiuff
Silva vs Zviadauri
Sylvia vs Jaoude
Barnett vs Xande
Fujita vs Mo Lawl

Nakao vs Wiuff is tough, they are both similar, but I would take Nakao because it’s in Japan.
Silva
Sylvia
Barnett
Mo
Gracie
Yoshida
Frye
nakao vs silva = silva
barnett vs sylvia = barnett
mo vs gracie = tough but I’ll take gracie, though I don’t know how he’ll take him down.
yoshida vs frye 2 = yoshida
silva vs barnett = barnett
yohida vs gracie = you never know with legendary fights like these, but I have to go with roger.
barnett vs gracie = barnett
Silva, Sylvia, Barnett, Mo, and Gracie would be favorites out of the 16.
