Werdum Near SENGOKU & Affliction! Manhoef To Participate At DREAM.7?
Fabricio Werdum has told Tatame that he is close to signing with SENGOKU and Affliction. Check for details on Tatame’s English site if/when they put it up.
Two other notable Heavyweights will clash on May 16th at an It’s Showtime event in Amsterdam when Semmy Schilt takes on Badr Hari in a Kickboxing bout.
Hari’s teammate Melvin Manhoef might have a very busy fight schedule in the coming months. Manhoef’s management confirmed to Five Ounces of Pain that Melvin might participate at DREAM.7 in March. Besides that Melvin has a Kickboxing fight in February at an It’s Showtime event, a possible K-1 WGP in Yokohama participation at the end of March, and a fight at the aforementioned It’s Showtime event in May against Stefan Leko.

Manhoef has dealt with crazy schedules before. Like when he fought Remy Bonjasky two weeks before his DREAM.3 MWGP qualifier fight. If anyone can handle a booked year it’s Manhoef.

Does this mean that the loss of a main sponsor was exxagerated?
Are HEIWA and Olympia back for 2009?
Seems I read on a few UFC nuthuggers site (you know, the assholes from Montreal who THINK theyre funny) that the two sponsors were not coming back.

Rene: When the DREAM.7 “logo” was first put out on DREAM’s website there was no HEIWA or OLYMPIA on it. However, they added it yesterday I think. So if it was just a miss or if there were some real problems is not known to me.
