The 4th World Weight Category Tournament! Nakahara Going For Second Win
The 4th World Weight Category Tournament in Kyokushin Karate will take place from August 21st to 23rd in Chiba, Japan. DREAM fighter Andrews Nakahara won the 3rd World Weight Category Tournament in 2005 and will participate in the 4th one’s 8-man Middleweight (under 80 kg) tournament on the 23rd.
This is a big tournament which only happens once every four years and winning it twice would really be something. Nakahara will be facing Barja Kumar Rai from Nepal in his first match of the day.
A1: Hiroyuki Kidachi (Japan) vs. Simon Kennedy (Australia)
A2: Stoian Nicolae (Romania) vs. Shohei Yamamoto (USA)
B1: Zenjyuro Mori (Japan) vs. Khuseyn Elikhanov (Russia)
B2: Barja Kumar Rai (Nepal) vs. Andrews Nakahara (Brazil)
Really hope Nakahara takes this, he’s such a naturally gifted fighter and boy does it show when he fights. Do you know of anyway one could watch this or where clips would be posted afterwards?
I like Nakahara and all, but I got to represent Shohei. I know him personally and he’s been training really hard for this comp.
I’ve seen some videos of him. Really exciting fighter.
We’ll see if it’s aired in some form in Japan, but besides that I don’t know.
