Yoshiro Maeda! DREAM.12 Next?
Yoshiro Maeda didn’t win in a way he would’ve liked to yesterday in his fight against Kleber Koike at DEEP Osaka Impact. He first got hit by a thumb in the eye, and later in the first round by a knee to the groin, which made him unable to continue. Maeda won by DQ.
While still in pain after the fight he still took the mike and said: “My battle still continues. Is an Osaka event participation next?”, appealing to the DREAM officials at ringside.
Also on the card, a fighter I like, Young “RYO” Choi, won another fight as he stopped Yuya Aikawa by punches in the second round. I would like to see him in bigger events or in a DEEP title fight soon. Could he be a participant in DEEP’s upcoming Light Heavyweight tournament?
See pictures of the fights here.

wow, that sucks for maeda.
i wonder when we will see RYO in dream
It seems like Japanese fighters are much more willing to take DQ wins than American fighters.
It’s interesting that on the same night Chris Tuchscherer took 5 minutes to recover from a low blow, then hobbled back to competition still holding his nuts, only to be knocked out shortly thereafter, Maeda does the smart thing, and allows the fight to be stopped.
Once DREAM decides to have their first light heavyweight fight.
He’s actually a MW. But since DEEP will have a LHW tourney and I don’t think they can really find many solid ones, he could possibly be thrown in there even though he’s a MW.
I really wished that Maeda would get back on track. He’s so talented and is one of my favorites to watch but he’s too much of a flake. He’s capable of much more than he shows in many of his fights.
Tuchscherer knew he couldn’t afford to have his first UFC fight end that way. Likely a no contest in his case, rather than a win by DQ. The UFC has cut fighters for less. Hell, they cut fighters after wins.
I can’t recall anyone getting cut after a win, it’s starting to bother me that I con’t remember, lol.
