Aoki Champion Celebration! NYE Reports

A celebration for Shinya Aoki becoming DREAM Lightweight champion was held in Tokyo today.
DREAM EP Sasahara was present at the celebration and was once again asked the question about a union event with SRC on NYE. Sasahara’s reply: “Really, nothing is settled.”
It seems that no progress has been made on an Aoki vs. Kawajiri fight for NYE either.
On the latest issue of Playboy in Japan it says that the Ishii vs. Yoshida fight was going to be aired on tape delay on TV Tokyo on January 3rd. However, in addition to the huge cost of Ishii vs. Yoshida, this frame on TV Tokyo also had to be purchased (pay to air Ishii/Yoshida?!) for quite a lot of money so it seems like Don Quijote president Yasuda got angry.
One of the SENGOKU girls has written on her blog that there will be an important announcement tomorrow. She doesn’t write what it has to do with though, just an important announcement.
There was nothing about a NYE event on the SRC Damashii episode yesterday. Ryo Chonan writes that the current MMA situation in Japan has become somewhat puzzling in his latest blog post.

Fuckin’ Aoki. Man, if Kawajiri vs. Aoki doesn’t happen in NYE, NYE event is gonna blow really bad, at least for me that is. It’s like a total boner-killer. This match and Lion vs. Hioki are the dream matches I have been waiting for for years.

Wouldn’t be bad if either fought Melendez, but that’s from an American perspective.
Maybe they are saving the aoki vs kawajiri title match for the first DREAM event of 2010.
Melendez would lose to both. He already should have lost to Kawajiri in a close fight back in 06, and now, he’d get mauled. Melendez would get subbed by Aoki.
Aoki/Kawajiri should NOT happen on NYE. If it did, it wouldn’t be for the DREAM LW Crown, so you might as well wait until early 2010.
it can be if they wanted it to. Why else is Kawajiri so adamant about fighting Aoki on NYE? He wants the belt more than anything else.

I haerd it was Dream that was holding up the Aoki/Kawajiri fight. Something about them wanting to do it at a later Dream show and not NYE. Not sure why though, NYE has such an epic feel the stage would be perfect no?
