Trigg Vs. Takimoto At SENGOKU IV?!

MMAJunkie has a new article up where Frank Trigg confirms a fight with Olympic gold medalist Makoto Takimoto at SENGOKU IV. Takimoto hasn’t fought since SENGOKU I where he lost to Evangelista Cyborg in a fight where he was the favorite beforehand with his 2-fight win streak against Zelg Galesic and Murilo Bustamante. However, the low kicks, Yoshida Dojo’s number 1 enemy, became Takimoto’s downfall.

Takimoto is an amazing fighter in many aspects. But he is not a smart fighter, his stance is a typical judo stance, it gives you hardly no way to defend against hard leg kickers. And I hate to say it, but why must every judo fighter try to stand up and bang with the boxers/kickboxers??? Do you ever see Silva or Mirko atempt a Uchimata?

It might be because they take too many shots going in for the clinch sometimes. It looks so awkward when Yoshida tries to go for a clinch and throw, he just runs in with his hands in front of his face. But I agree with you, especially with Nakamura. He gets decent hands, does that mean he has to never use his judo again? I feel it’s the same with Akiyama, at least he has better than decent stand-up. I think he would’ve defeated Misaki if his gameplan was to take it down.
