SENGOKU

The semifinals and final fights of both the Lightweight GP and Middleweight GP will take place on November 1st at SENGOKU VI in Saitama Super Arena.

SENGOKU will hold a new year event very early in 2009, not on new years eve though. It’s not decided yet if the event will have a special name or be part of the SENGOKU numbered series. The SENGOKU Lightweight title fight between Gomi and the winner of the GP is planned to take place on this event.

They want to build the 60 and 65 kg divisions starting next year. The 65 kg fight that was supposed to take place at SENGOKU V didn’t materialize because of contract problems.

WVR PR Kuniyasu said that he thinks that Roger may fight with top fighters like Josh Barnett if he defeats Wiuff.

DREAM

The card might not be complete yet. There might be as many as 12 fights on the card when it is complete, with Akiyama being in one of them. Akiyama was given three fighters to choose from but his people haven’t responded yet.
