Pre 2009 Featherweight GP’s! Sandro Confirms SENGOKU Participation

A lot of news today. Another one from Tatame where Featherweight King Of Pancrase Marlon Sandro confirms his participation in the SENGOKU GP. I’m not sure but I think he says something about Takaia (Hiroyuki Takaya?) also participating at the end of the article. If anyone reads Brazilian Portuguese please help.

He also says that WVR will bring fighters from Pancrase, SHOOTO, DEEP, and the WEC.

I believe you mean Alexandre Franca Nogueira. 😉

I think Sengoku has the Shooto dudes locked up for this one, especially considering DREAM has no relationship with them. I’d expect Lion, Hioki, Sato, and Kadowaki to all end up in the field.

The DEEP inclusion is curious, though. I guess Mishima couldn’t make 138 lbs?

    And Wiky Akiyo where???
he is the big draw in shooto and Cage Force¡¡¡

Maybe Vitor Shaolin can down to feather too?

I’m expecting Hoshino in sengoku and Wicky in dream.

I can read it, and yes, he does say Takaya will be in the GP. Here’s that part translated.
“So far the only one i know will be there is Takaia, who’s a very tough guy. They wanted me to fight him last year, but they thought it’d be better if i fought for the Pancrase belt first.”

I would actually expect Hoshino in DREAM, since he is a WK guy and they have a very close relationship with DREAM, with Uno and all.

Don’t know about close relationship. It was rumored when DREAM started that Uno wouldn’t sign because of the ex-DSE staff involvement. Also note that WK is one of the gyms that the people in the SENGOKU tryouts can choose.

I think we’re making to big a deal out of this relationship thing. SENGOKU and GRABAKA seems to have a close relationship but Yamazaki still fought twice in DREAM.

And by me writing that I expect Hoshino to be in the SENGOKU GP, it means that I have read about in on other places. Doesn’t mean that it is 100% sure though. He could be in the DREAM one.
