DJ.taiki GP Participation In Limbo?! Uno To The UFC

DJ.taiki’s DREAM Featherweight GP participation is still in limbo. Shu Hirata writes that DJ’s left eye was swollen shut from the tough qualification fight against SHOJI and if results from the hospital that examined him show a fracture, he will not be ready for March 8th.

Tatame reports that DREAM veteran Andre Dida will face Buakaw Por.Pramuk at the K-1 MAX event on April 21st. Dida was supposed to fight at the February K-1 MAX event but due to visa issues he will not be able to compete.

In other Lightweight news, MMAJunkie reports that DREAM Lightweight GP semifinalist Caol Uno is likely to return to the UFC to face Spencer Fisher at UFC 99. UFC 99 is scheduled to take place on June 13th in Germany. This is of course a blow to DREAM, Uno is a popular fighter and Tanigawa has said that Uno is still with FEG.

Go to hell uno. If you’re dumb enough to sign with zuffa, you deserve to go to hell.

Yeah, that’s a real shame with DJ.Taiki. Hopefully if he isn’t ready to go at DREAM.7 they can give him his slot at DREAM.8. It sounds like he really earned his spot in the GP in his fight against Shoji.

As far as Uno goes…that’s a bummer. I would’ve liked to see him fight Kawajiri this year, but I respect Uno’s desire to return to the UFC.

i hope they can get another big name to take Dj’s spot soon. also, the Kid drama needs to be cleared up soon. i wish Assuncao was gonna join, but from what i understand he signed with WEC recently

So Uno will get the standard 14,000$ to show plus $14,000 to win.
Should be enough to pay the rent and train and hes a little guy, Im sure he doesnt eat much.
Besides, the american sponsors and TV will be lined up for him so he should be fine.

Actually, when I think about it, LW’s did their thing last year.
This year its the turns of the jockeys and WW, so there will be definitely less need for LW.
    14,000$ sounds better than nothing.
