The biggest news this week is an alliance between DREAM and Strikeforce. It seems to consist of talent exchange and possible future combined events. A press conference with Mitsuhiro Ishida was held in Japan this past Wednesday. Read more about the alliance here.

In other DREAM news, the Lightweight title fight between challenger Shinya Aoki and champion Joachim Hansen is now official for DREAM.11 in October.

An interesting Pancrase event took place today in Differ Ariake in Tokyo today. Yuki Kondo made a successful comeback by defeating Korean Kim Ki Keom by TKO in the first round and Izuru Takeuchi got to keep his Middleweight KOP title by fighting Laughter7’s Takenori Sato to a draw.

In the Lightweight title fight of the night, SENGOKU training player Maximo Blanco became the 3rd generation Lightweight King Of Pancrase when he defeated Katsuya Inoue by TKO in the second round. Very impressive.

The opponent of DREAM Featherweight GP quarterfinalist Yoshiro Maeda on August 30th at DEEP Osaka Impact has been announced. It is Bonsai Jiu-Jitsu’s Kleber Koike.

It’s going to be fun watching Maximo Blanco develop as a fighter. He’s an exciting dude, for sure. Wonder if he’ll fight at September or November’s Sengoku.

Hopefully he understands, or is willing to follow, the rules now. Definitely a fight I look forward to seeing posted on the net. Like the above poster stated, I can’t wait to see how Blanco pans out.

By the way, did anyone catch Sengoku G Korea yet? There were some badass looking fighters on there for sure.
