SENGOKU X! The Lightweight KOP Vs. The Former Super High School Student

Yamada X Maxi - GBRing.com

Four new fights have been announced for SENGOKU X on September 23rd. The three opening fights of the event will be the winners of “SENGOKU Gold Cup: Japan” vs. the winners of “SENGOKU Gold Cup: South Korea”.

The only main card fight that was announced is one which I expected in newly crowned Lightweight King Of Pancrase Maxi (Maximo Blanco) taking on “Former Super High School Student” Tetsuya Yamada in a Lightweight fight.

Update: An excited Yamada said that he wants to become a superstar like his teammate Tokoro became when he brought down the former Shooto champion (Pequeno). Yamada also announced that he will fight at Lightweight from now on (it takes too much on his stamina to cut to Featherweight). He is currently doing wellfare work 5 days a week and training 6 days a week. He is now able to train more than when he was in school.

Update #2: Maxi is already interested in other belts as he revealed that he also wants the SENGOKU and UFC belts. About Yamada Maxi said that he’s young and his ground game is strong. He thinks it’ll be a tough fight.

Update #3: It seems like Yamada will train in a gym that isn’t his normal one. However, he couldn’t say which it is. He will go there everyday though.

Update #4: WVR PR Kokuho said that this fight might decide the Lightweight title challenger after the next challenger. One of the best 4 of the Featherweight GP is also planned to participate at SENGOKU X (probably Sandro). The plan is for Antonio Silva to face a foreign fighter and for Joe Doerksen to face a Japanese fighter. The negotiations with Izumi’s opponent are currently going rough. Expect more fights to be announced soon.

Update #5: So Jee Hyun came second in the South Korean gold cup but since the winner can’t participate due to some circumstances, Hyun will take his place. Osawa is happy that his fellow SENGOKU training player became a champion but he says that he also wants to become a champion soon. Kokuho said that the fighter who has the best win out of the three fights will get a fight at either SENGOKU XI in November or SENGOKU’s new year event. Izumi’s fight will be the main event of SENGOKU X.

it’ll be interesting to see how yamada has evolved, and on the ground he could get the sub, but most likely is a bad loss.

how come your layout looks exactly like the old 2dopeboyz.com before they upgraded a couple months ago, even down to the two dots (“..”) around your name in the header, and identical colors and fonts, is it cause you’re an unoriginal piece of shit, or cause of some wordpress default fuckery?

wow…you’re a cool guy, you’re right, reading a blog about sweaty men pawing at each other and shit is way straighter than rap music, I don’t know what I was thinking, thanks for making me see the light…

No you coming here complaining about design layout is gay, so is a site called ‘2 dope boyz’ sounds like gay pr0n to me.

Did you come here looking for Japanese MMA news or to complain about the drapes?

whatever dude, the fact you have 2dopeboyz in the comment-section of your blog will probably bring you more traffic than you’ve ever gotten, so don’t get so offended that I asked a question about your layout while I was looking at some Japanese MMA news, it’s cool how you defend this shit to the death though, and get all offended and homophobic when somebody asks about your blog being similar in appearance to one that gets more hits in a day than this does in a year, shit…

I was impressed with Yamada but man, I just don’t see him getting the win over Maximo. Actually I can see him getting a win via DQ, but outside of that nada. I’m really looking forward to this card on the whole. Yokota vs. Shultz should be a fun match-up. Can’t wait to see who Izumi is fighting either.

Not my site, and having 2dopegayz asking about color patterns is annoying.

who gives a shit about the color and fonts on a mma site? The ppl who come here get updated news bout mma, not what the latest designs are.

Regarding the comment that the winner might be up for the title shot after the next title shot, does that mean they’ve decided on the next shot? They seem to have a lot of contenders right now, Yokota & Gomi assuming they win there next fights are strong contenders. Also, Kitaoka could get an automatic rematch as it was a hell of a fight. Even Mitsuoka could be the number 1 contender.
