HMC X Minowaman - GBRing.com

HMC X Minowaman - GBRing.com

Two and a half additional fights were today announced for DREAM.11 on October 6th in the Yokohama Arena. In the Super Hulk Tournament semifinals, Minowaman will take on Choi Hong Man and Sokoudjou will take on a yet to be announced opponent, since Gegard Mousasi is out with a shoulder injury.

In a Lightweight single fight on the card, Daisuke Nakamura will return to Japan from a M-1 victory to take on J.Z.Calvan, who is in need of a victory.

Update: The opponent of Sokoudjou will most likely be a fighter who was in the first round of the tournament.

Update #2: Sakuraba is planned to return at either DREAM.11 or 12. The first DREAM.12 fight announcement should be next week. The details of the DREAM.12 surprise should be revealed one of these days. Sasahara wants Overeem to participate in a DREAM event once before the year is over.

    All together now…. Mark Hunt!

It’s either him or Bob Sapp, most likely. I can’t see Jose Canseco, and Nortje already lost to Sokoudjou.

I’d like to see a new face, but if it’s gotta be a repeat, make it Mark Hunt.

Sokoudjou vs Hunt would be awesome

    September 9, 2009 at 9:05 am

Yeah, I just really hope it lasts longer than his last few fights. And I hope he wins, of course.

  8. September 9, 2009 at 9:15 am

I think if Hunt should be given another chance he should be given like 2 months to prepare. Then we’d know if he doesn’t give a damn anymore and just want money or if his last few performances have been because of short preparation time in addition.

hey NOB, where did you get the update that the opponent is likely an old participant of the first round?

they should get Kid Muscle in there

  10. September 9, 2009 at 10:10 am

Sasahara said something along those lines at the press conference. He said that they’ll get precedence, so it depends on if they sign to fight.

Why does it say that they “chickened out recoil mechanism” when I translate to English? What does that mean? Thx.

Can we expect 2 more fights?

“A device which will make you surprised and make you wince” – about the DREAM.12 surprise

  17. September 9, 2009 at 8:59 pm

don’t know, I’d think around that number though.

    Hi N.O.B,

I mean what does it mean? Did they chicken out on using it or are they still planning on using it for DREAM.12?

I also read this from Gryphon, any hints on (4)? Thx.

(1)”We send strikeforce championclass fighters.and maybe SF’s championclass fighter also come to DREAM.12″

(2)”We hope Alistaier Overeem fight in DREAM in 2009″

(3)”SAKURABA Kazushi will come back soon”

(4)”Greeeeeat surprise comes in next week!!”

    Especially (4),

some rumors say that this surprise news is “Ne producer(spokesman) is TAKADA Nobuhiko”……..hahaha

From the translation I did it said 1-2 more fights, could be wrong though. Also Saku will either be at 11 or 12, probably 12 though. Parky vs. Crusher would be a nice fight for Dream 11 imo.

  20. September 9, 2009 at 9:34 pm

they will still have a surprise for dream.12, this quote: “A device which will make you surprised and make you wince” is a description of the surprise.

They will announce the surprise one of these days.

Would be fun to see Takada there to get the crowd excited. But I think it’s a cage.

a very stellar card, i cant say that there is not even one fight that im not interested in watching so far all eight and hopefully kawajiri gets a good opponent…hope JZ performs well

Definitely hoping Hunt steps in as Mousasi’s replacement. Nakamura/Calvan is a very interesting match. Although I’d make JZ a clear favorite, Nakamura will put up a good fight. Good tune-up fight for JZ. Can’t wait to see the final card!

I think we’d all prefer Hunt but I guess Sapp will do.

If both Choi and Sapp move on it’ll be a rematch from their FieLDS K-1 WORLD GP 2005 fight where Choi won via DEC (although that was a K1 fight).

I’m rooting for Minowa to win it all, but HMC vs Sapp would be an interesting end to this strange tournament.

  29. September 10, 2009 at 5:23 am

yup, you’re right, it does say 1-2 more. I didn’t read that article before.

    September 10, 2009 at 6:24 am

Sapp is already signed for a kickboxing fight in Hong-Kong just DAY AFTER Dream.11 and still he takes the fight!!
He will probably let Soko to TKO him quickly or maybe his corner will throw in the towel just 2 seconds into the fight like Fujita did in the PRIDE GP 2000?
