#16: The White Cage Net Not Metal

Sasahara also talked about the net of the cage. It will not be metal, it’ll be some advanced material for durability that is also used for tuna and yellow tail cultivation among other things called matrix. He says that it’s impact absorbability is excellent.

Apparently the guy in charge of some net manufacturer was a PRIDE fan by chance so they stopped all other work to work on the net of the white cage. The color of the net is beige.

Kinda off-topic but was there any talk about Akihito Tanaka? After the debut last year it seems he has been completely forgotten.

Yeah, but if someone would be missing it’s not surprising that it’s him.

Yeah, true enough. Though it’s still shitty for everyone involved. Hope they can find someone for Dong.

  8. October 23, 2009 at 12:03 pm

Seems like Daiju Takase wants the fight with Dong.

  12. October 23, 2009 at 5:22 pm

Tarec? is he even in Japan? i would imagine it would have to be a catch weight.

    i would rather see Daiju

Overeem vs. Thompson is the main event? Surprised they didnt give it to Sakuraba, or Alvarez X kikuno.

  14. Edward
    October 24, 2009 at 3:53 am

Reportedly Tarec and his corner flew out on the 22nd. As for the question of Filho’s manager, that would be Ed Soares whose focus is currently the Machida-Shogun bout.

Dangit. The three fights I care most about are the last 3 fights. I really don’t know if I’ll be able to stay awake that long tomorrow night. What a shame.

I just wanted to point out that you have the weights for Alistair and JT reversed.

Overeem weighed in @ 115Kgs, while Colossus weighed in @ 126Kgs.

Kashin’s comments on DREAM aren’t surprising coming from him, as he always has something douche bagger’ish to say.
