NYE Rumors! Who Will Sakuraba’s Opponent Be?
Kazushi Sakuraba
From Gryphon’s twitter:
Annonimous post “SAKU vs MISAKI in NYeve(Dynamite!)”.news source is”anonimous fighter said”..It is nothing but rumor, rumor, and rumor but …
this is from kamipro—-SAKU’s NY eve opponent is list uped two japanese.”A” is it looks not serious for usualfan, but for mania, very serious
Kazuo Misaki announced that he has left Grabaka two days ago so if WVR has some kind of contract with the whole gym and not Misaki himself, he could be out of the contract. Though that is just speculation for now. Misaki did say though that he will “start from zero”, is that in regards to his training or something else?
Gegard Mousasi
Possible participation on the Dynamite!! card.
Andrei Arlovski
Andrei Arlovski might participate at either Dynamite!! or SRC 12 on NYE.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski is looking to fight by the end of the year and could be competing at Strikeforce: Evolution on Dec. 19 or in Japan with Sengoku or Dynamite!! 2009 on New Year’s Eve.
Kazunori Yokota
WVR PR Kokuho thinks that Yokota will be the challenger for Hirota at SRC 12.
Marlon Sandro
Sandro reveals to GracieMag that he will most likely fight on NYE:
So you already have a fight scheduled for the end of the year?
It’s almost 100% done. They told me that, if I win, I’ll be back on the 31st. It would be for the title or to line me up to challenge for the title. But my managers want it to be for the title.
I think that he deserves the title shot but don’t know if that’s the best move for the promotion.

Interesting stuff all around. Really looking forward to Hirota/Yokota 2!
That fight will be intense, I don’t think they like each other. Yokota walked right past Hirota after his win against Schultz but greeted Mitsuoka who was sitting next to Hirota.
NOB, any idea on what day FEG will announce the first NYE fights?
It’s usually a Wed, or Thurs isn’t it?
I’m guessing this week or next and yes, FEG usually announce stuff on Wedensdays.
Sakuraba has a million rumored opponents. Shinya Aoki, Daiju Takase, Kazuo Misaki, 3rd generation Gracie, TK…I vote for Aoki.
So I’m listening to the JBS as I type because Breen said that Sengoku and Dream are thinking of merging for the NYE show. Is this true? If so I think it would be great. Think of all the stellar matches!
Don’t be surprised by anything.
There might be a reason why neither have held a press conference yet despite saying that they would of had one last week.
Saku’s potential opponents are not grabbing me at all. TK, Misaki, Aoki……not right or particularly good.
DREAM and SRC joining forces is also underwhelming. DREAM hold all the aces as far as I can see.
It’s gonna be difficult to match last year’s Dynamite Greatness.
you’re obviously uneducated in JMMA, so I’m just gonna ignore what you just said.
Aoki-Kawa alone is better then last years card.
Id like to see Saku face Frank Shamrock, Royce Gracie or Rickson Gracie.
Those are the only fights Saku should take at this point.
I gotta agree. Some old guy he can have a grudge with but not have to worry about being pummelled to death and maybe even do some fancy ground stuff with.
kawa’s boy toy-If you had anything resembling intelligence you would have noticed that I didn’t say anthing. I wrote it. Also, if you had ignored my post then you yourslef wouldn’t have actually wrote anything in return, instead you did write something therefore you didn’t ignore it.
Uneducated in Japanese MMA I may be, (Though personally I doubt it) you appear uneducated period.
Aoki should be fighting Kawajiri. Nothing else matters. How would Saku-Aoki be better than last year’s Dynamite!! That’s just lame. The rating may have not been up to scratch but the show was unreal.
The only fight Saku should be having at this stage of the game is with Rickson but that will never happen.
Daiju Takase is also a rumour for Saku’s opponent on NYE according to japanesemma.com
Dear God, I hope not.
Hey N.O.B..
Maybe a:
Melvin Manhoef vs Karl Amossuo
Mantaro return’s
Tamura vs Sanae Kikuta
Tim Silvya vs Alistair Overeem
