Fight Of The Century! The Days Before

Tomorrow it’s time for the biggest fight thus far in Japan this year as Daisuke Naito will try to defend his title against challenger Koki Kameda.

Both fighters made weight on their first try at the weigh-ins on the 28th and everything is set to go for tomorrows fight which of course will be aired on TBS in Japan.

Below are some videos to get a little hyped up for the fight (the first two are from the same program so watch the first before the second).

What are the ratings supposed to be for this? I would imagine a 45-50 would be possible.

We’ll see. It depends on Naito. I think his popularity can quickly go down. I don’t think it will happen for this fight though.

Koki strikes me as a douche, and Naito seems like a nice guy. But there’s this weird cult following of Koki that has brainwashed me into rooting for him. Lol

Hope Naito gives Kameda a solid beating!

This will be a very big fight, Naito is very popular and Kameda is the sort of guy “everyone” wants to see lose. 45-50 is a bit high though, but it will be a HUGE fight.

Anyone knows how much Naito will earn for this fight? Will it be anywhere near the level of those astronomical purses of big-time fights in US (counted in millions of dollars)? Naito is the World Champion after all…

Could kameda be as popular as naito? Could he be a big kakutougi star?

Im not sure, but I think Kameda was already more popular than Naito. He kind of has that brash personality, kind of like Mayweather. People will love to hate him.
