Sakuraba Currently In Dynamite!! Negotiations! Wants Fujita Fight

Kazushi Sakuraba held a commemoration press conference today for the publication of his new book called “Creative powers”.

At the press conference he also talked about Dynamite!!, starting off with his now usual “I don’t want to fight”-talk. He is currently negotiating with the promoters but he says that he doesn’t want to fight, it’s cold so he can’t warm up, he wants to take NYE off because he recently had two fights in one month, etc.

He doesn’t have the image of the DREAM vs. SRC fights as war but as a cultural meeting of some sort. About an opponent he says that anyone is fine, though he wants to increase his weight and fight Fujita.

He had the chance to train with him in the past. After experiencing his power in training he wants to experience “that power” in a fight as well. If Fujita hits him in the fight, he wants to tell him: “I’m your senior by one year, yet you hit me?”.

A Sakuraba vs. Fujita fight would be bigger than Sakuraba vs. Misaki I think, with their professional and amateur wrestling backgrounds. The Sakuraba-Misaki-Akiyama link is also something though.

Scott Coker said that Aoki will fight the winner of Melendez/Thomson LW Unification bout around March/April. While we are waiting for Monday to come, I thought that was interesting news. He also said he expects Overeem to fight around that time. The Strikeforce CBS show is rumored around that time.

I think “Inokism vs UWF” angle fits Dynamite!! better, than a “battle of two guys, who fought Akiyana on NYE (and finished with controversial NC)”…

    Not surprising if it happens.

Detroitbushido :Fujita is to big for him.

Sakuraba has fought CroCop and Randleman in the past, so I guess it isnt that big of a problem to ask for the fight, to him at least.

He’s probably got a better chance against Fujita than Misaki. Misaki’s too fast for most middleweights, let alone 40-somethings. Fujita’s got punching power, but is probably even more out of his prime than Saku & has terrible stamina. I’d rather see the Misaki fight as it would build Misaki as a star of the future, rather than having 2 guys from the glory days go out & look like has-beens.
