Schilt Wants MMA Fight On NYE

At the K-1 reserve fights press conference today FEG’s Sadaharu Tanigawa said that Semmy Schilt wants to fight in an MMA rules fight at Dynamite!! on December 31st. Schilt’s next goal might be to capture the DREAM Heavyweight belt.

Choi In Two Fights In December?

Choi Hong Man was one of the announced participants for the reserve fights today. He will face Ray Sefo on December 6th. Tanigawa said that he wants Choi to also fight at Dynamite!! on NYE if he doesn’t sustain an injury against Sefo.

Barnett Vs. Randleman At SENGOKU NO RAN 2009?

In a new article at FightersOnlyMagazine.co.uk a spokesman for Kevin Randleman said:

“Kevin is going to focus on light-heavyweight for now.

“But I can see that Sengoku is having trouble getting opponents for Josh, so it is always a possibility.”

Ludwig Replaces Thomson

SENGOKU veteran Duane Ludwig will replace Josh Thomson and fight Yves Edwards on November 21st at Strikeforce. Thomson sustained an injury during training that forced him to pull out of the fight.

Jocz And Overeem Victorious In Holland

Robert Jocz and Alistair Overeem were both victorious at GLORY 10 in Holland two days ago. Jocz won via unanimous decision against the tough Assan Njie and increased his winning streak to 7 in a row. Jocz will hopefully make his SENGOKU debut soon considering his recent results.

Overeem didn’t have much trouble with Gary Goodridge and submitted him in the first round. You can watch the fight here.

Chase Beebe To DREAM Or SENGOKU

MMAInsider has learned that former World Extreme Cagefighting bantamweight champion Chase Beebe is weighing offers from Japanese promotions Dream and Sengoku.

“The Dream contract they offered me was pretty sweet,” Beebe said.

Beebe wants to fight around December, but said the K-1 Dynamite! New Year’s Eve card was not on the table. In that respect, Sengoku was a closer fit, with an event featuring a lightweight Grand Prix scheduled for Jan. 4.

Beebe says a decision will be made in the upcoming weeks.

It seems that DREAM are starting to make some moves for their rumored Featherweight GP in 2009.
